I was sorry to see that Bill died just four months after joining the McClatchy website.

Sorry to hear about Bill. We went to Sutterville together and were friends. My thoughts and prayers go out to all.

Billy was a good friend throughout our years at McClatchy whether it was football team acivities, South Land Park bowling alley (we weren't good bowlers but it was a great place to be with others--Nishio, Kihara, McCampbell--well you get the idea) or just riding around in the car.  He wasn't the biggest player on the football team but nobody had a bigger competitive heart.  His older brother Ken, whose football legacy was legendary, always inspired Billy as well those of us who played the game.  Billy is gone way to early.   Rest in piece my friend.

I remember all those super football matches, which the Lions usually won---what a team!  So very sorry to hear that Bill has passed on...he was such a good guy.  My thoughts go to his family.

I was so sorry to hear that Billy passed away.  Billy lived across the street from us. I went all the way through school with him.  He had a very hard life at home and at Sutterville, our school. Our principal at Sutterville, Mrs. Vest & her sidekick, Mr. Leaf picked on Billy constantly.  Mrs. Vest would call him to the office over the intercom & then Mr. Leaf would whip him with a stick.  It was horrendous!  Poor Billy would come back to the classroom shaddered!

Thank goodness Billy had football and an older brother, Buddy, that took good care of him.  I was so happy to hear that Billy found happiness later in life.  He certainly deserved it!  Billy, may you Rest In Peace and please know, you were a good person!

Sincerely,

Jan (Quay) Healy
